And Emma, totally agree with you on the need to have people with disabilities front and center in discussing supports and accommodations. The challenge when it comes to job candidates especially is the issue of self disclosure. Will the fear of discrimination and stigma — or the unwillingness to self-identify as having a disability — keep that from happening. I mentioned that in an earlier post. I know of several big US companies who claim they are trying to hire people with disabilities but can’t find them. How can governments and employers create an environment where people feel comfortable coming forward.  Even in the US where companies can get sued for discrimination, it is pretty hard for a person to prove they were not hired for a job because they had a disability.
