A world where all people with disabilities, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, or any characteristic, enjoy and exercise their full human rights and contribute to, and benefit from, sustainable and inclusive development.
OUR MISSION
CIP supports national and international stakeholders in ensuring that public policies and development programs foster the full and effective inclusion of all persons with disabilities in line with the CRPD and other human rights frameworks.
To achieve this, we undertake policy analysis, research, training, and strategic thinking. We catalyse change by connecting researchers, policy makers, advocates, and practitioners.
OUR VALUES
INCLUSION
All people, regardless of disability or other characteristics, should not face barriers to participating in the social and economic lives of their community. All policies and programs should be designed and implemented to ensure that no one is excluded because of who they are.
PARTICIPATION
For policies and programs to be truly inclusive, they must be developed and implemented in a participatory fashion, so that all voices are heard and valued.
HUMAN RIGHTS-BASED APPROACH
Full participation in society is a human right and should be guaranteed by law. All policies and programs should be in line with international human rights standards and operationally directed to promoting and protecting human rights.
RESPECT
Respect refers to the recognition, value, and consideration for the rights, dignity, opinions, beliefs, and boundaries of others. It involves valuing and treating individuals and their perspectives with courtesy, fairness, and esteem.
RIGOROSITY
A word we invented to describe our commitment to an evidence-based approach that draws upon high quality research, curiosity, and the inclusion of different lived experiences, with an eye towards achieving practical, real-world results.
